Teruhiko Toda worked as a Pianist/Coach and Assistant Conductor in Tokyo. He has played for a variety of professional opera companies and orchestras, including the New National Theatre Tokyo, Houston Grand Opera, RAI Torino Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Opera in the Heights and others. He conducted L’elisir D’amore in Japan in 2007. His operatic repertoire includes over 40 operas. He also participated in Wagner and world premiere opera productions in Tokyo. Mr. Toda is a popular concert accompanist. He accompanied Mezzo Soprano, Denyce Graves in her 2012 Houston recital. He has performed for the Lois Alba Competition and Soma International Foundation concerts. He has also performed with Houston Grand Opera’s “Opera to Go!” at Miller Outdoor Theater, and tours throughout Texas. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Tokyo College of Music, followed by a graduate degree in Piano Accompaniment. His extended studies included a piano solo concert in Italy. Following graduation he worked as Assistant Professor at the Tokyo College of Music.
