Recipient of the 2009 Audience Choice Award
Baritone Andrew Darling is from Dallas, Texas. He recently covered the role of Escamillo in CARMEN with Opera Santa Barbara.
In summer of 2008 he made his debut at the Santa Fe Opera as Arthur Jones in BILLY BUDD and participated in the Apprentice program there as well. He was cast as Enrico Ashton from LUCIA di LAMMERMOOR in the scenes program.
Mr. Darling debuted at the Palm Beach Opera in 2007 as Haly in L’ITALIANA in ALGERI and Yamadori in MADAMA BUTTERFLY and covered the roles of Athanael in THAIS and Silvio in PAGLIACCI as a resident artist.
Mr. Darling obtained his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and studies with the distinguished baritone Brian Schexnayder as well as soprano Virginia Zeani.
