Lyric Coloratura Soprano HeeWoo Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea.
She made New York debut at Hungarian Consulate as a 1st place winner of the Los Angeles International Liszt Competition. At that competition she received 1st place and special performance prize with judge’s comment “perfect”.
She has participated in master classes with Monika Burgener in Germany, Gianni Raimondi in Italy and Peter Mark in U.S.
In Italy, HeeWoo Kim entered L‘instituto di Donizetti’ at the top of her class and received three diplomas from Conservatory of Luca Marenzio, Accademia of Tadini and Accademia of Donizetti.
During her studies she was engaged to sing numerous concerts around Milan and Bergamo.
With her pure voice and bel canto technique, she has enjoyed performing Gilda in Verd’s Rigoletto, Musetta in Puccini’s La Boheme, Adina in Donizetti’s L’elisir D’amor and Violetta in Verdi’s La Traviata.
HeeWoo Kim’s work as a concert and recital soloist has been widely recognized in performing such works as Mozart’s Exultate, Jubilate, Gounod’s Messe Solennelle Santa Cecilia, Mozart’s Missa Brevis in C,K. 259, Coronation Mass in C,K. 317, Saint Saens’s Oratorio de Noel, Handel’s Messiah, Mendelssohn’s Elijah and Haydn’s The Creation.
